Clinical disease resulting from hematogenous dissemination of mycobacterium tuberculosis bacilli. originally described by the appearance of millet seed-like granulomas in the lungs, its progression from sustained bacteremia to extrapulmonary involvement is suggestive of a poor prognosis.
